Tokyo Geode

Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan

2015

The warm earthy Corten outer skin of The Geode is broken by a clean sheath of glazing revealing a layer of precious “stone”. The lobby, atrium, and public circluation are interconnected like veins of minerals traced through the building making up the first layer of the geode. As you enter the main performance hall your eyes are greeted with a cornucopia of amethyst like crystal structures designed to optimize acoustical performance and provide dazzling display that speaks to Harijuku neighborhood
